In this lunch he has:
- Sesame Peanut Noodles; recipe taken from Nigella Express. I adore Nigella!
- (note: I switched her recommended egg noodles for healthier and low carb raw zucchini noodles)
- One soft boiled egg with a black sesame spice mix made by my sweet sister! So yummy !
- Grated carrot
- Sliced cherry tomatoes
- Diced mango
- A Chevron sliced apple
- Blackberries and one big strawberry!
This looks delicious! I wonder if I could get my husband to eat zucchini noodles if I just let him try them first.
ReplyDeletePlease let us know what he thought!
He liked the pasta and thumbs down the peanutbutter sauce...but it's because of the sesame, which he hates (he now tell me) as well as corriander which I knew. Darn it! I will try the pasta in another sauce again it's quite tasty, believe me!
DeleteA real testament to the fact that sometimes all you need to do is cut things up a certain way and arrange them carefully to make something breathtaking! Is there a gadget one uses to make chevron apples, or are you just that good with a knife?
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! Nope just a regular sharpish knife! Cut the apple into quarters and then graduated wedges. It looks waaay harder than it is! Lol!
DeleteLovely arrangemet of a well rounded meal. This bento says "I Love You!" with style!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jenn! Yeps, I loovess that man! ^.^
DeleteHi, I just discovered your blog through "Bento of The Week" through Hello Kitty in Facebook. I'm from Finland and I've been a Hello Kitty and Japan fan for many years. I love bentos too! And I love your blog. This is very very inspiring and makes me feel warm and welcome.
ReplyDeleteI need to soon start making me sort of bento boxes for school, as I'm allergic to so many things including lactose and all finnish wheats, and school food is not suitable for me. It would also spare them money and work, and get me to do something I really love: making food look pretty and delicious. I don't own a bento box yet but I might buy one with some Sanrio character design. I have a picnic box which has 4 stages and could be used making 3-4 bentos if I find other people who would like to take part in the "bento project".
I don't have a family to cook for which is sad, and I'm getting divorced, but if I move together with my sister I could make her lunch too. Last week she told me how much she liked it when I was living in her place two years ago and always had some food ready when she came from work. When I'm alone I tend to just eat some fastfood.
Well, your blog is a great inspiration and it really really made my day! Thanks you!
